Ada

Free with your own key. Always.

Ada is a desktop app, not a service you rent access to. Point it at your own API key and it costs nothing, forever. Pay us only when you'd rather not manage keys, or when a team needs seats and SSO.

> < what you actually pay

Two bills, and we only shrink one of them.

Any AI coding tool costs you two things: the tool, and the model tokens it spends on your behalf. The second is almost always the larger number — and it's the one Ada was built to reduce.

The tool

$0 on your own key. $19 if you'd rather we handled routing. That number is small and predictable either way.

The tokens

This is where the money goes. Across five measured tasks Ada sent 444k tokens against 893k for the same work — 35–70% less spend, depending on how much the task leans on your existing code.

Which is why Free is real

We're not giving away a crippled tier to upsell you. On your own key you get the whole product, and the savings land in your provider bill instead of ours.

> < questions

Straight answers.

Is Free actually free, or a trial?
Actually free, with no time limit. Ada runs on your machine; with your own key there's nothing for us to meter. The repo map and semantic index run locally, so they cost nothing to operate either.
Does my code leave my machine?
Only what a turn sends to the model you chose — the same as any AI coding tool. Indexing is different: the embedding model runs on your machine, so your codebase is never uploaded to be indexed.
What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
The app keeps working. You drop to Free and add your own key. Nothing you built is locked up, because nothing you built lives with us.
Can we run the backend ourselves?
Yes — that's the Team tier's normal deployment. The backend is a container you run on your own infrastructure, with seats and OIDC pointing at your identity provider.
Ada is in beta. What does that mean for the price?
It ships, it's signed and notarized, and it updates itself. It's early, so access is still granted one account at a time — ask and we'll add you.
